My Translation

Advantages: It´s more comprehensible for someone who needs or wants to read it, and it doesn´t have so many mistakes.

Disadvantages: It takes very long comparing to an automatic translator, to translate a paragraph it took me like 20 minutes.
I could not know the meaning of a word, or more important a sentence, and the whole meaning would not be the same.



AT (Systran™)

Advantages: It´s very fast, it doesn´t take more than 1 minute (depending on the connection). It gives the meaning of an unknown word.

Disadvantages: It translates word by word, so the meaning of the text you want translate won´t be the same and it´s not so comprehensible, specially if you translate it to a foreign or second language.


CAT

Advantages: It helps me translating something faster. if i don´t know the meaning of any word it can give it to me.

Disadvantages: It´s not so fast as AT is. It doesn´t give me coherence and/or cohesion rules to translate it.

1. My translation:

• Advantages: It´s easier to read . You can put compund adjetives and idioms because it´s not translated word by word.
• Disadvantages: it takes a lot of time to translate.

2. Systran:

• Advantages: it´s faster. It doesn´t take a lot of time as my translation. it gives you de meaning of unknown words.
• Disadvantages: It translates word by word so the meaning isn´t so comprehensible.

3. CAT:

• Advantages: You can add unknown words to your vocabulary and put them in your translation. It´s faster than the human translation.
• Disadvantages: It isn´t as fast as Systran.

Conclusion:

The techonlogy is important and it helps. However it doesn´t replace the person.

I think that the better translator is the CAT.

• Advantages: It's a complete human translation, with all what this means... Languages expresions, phrases translations, metaphors adaptions, etc
• Disadvantages: It may have common human errors, like spelling mistakes or giving a word a incorrect meaning.
• At (Systran):
  
• Advantages: Faster translation.
• Disadvanteges: The translations have no great cohesion. They have common mistakes that a machine should make... like word by word translation or considerating one of the different meanings a word may have.
  
• CAT:
• Advantages: It mix the advantages of the sistems mentioned beffore.
• Disadvantages: Not as fast as Systran, but the translation time is decreased.

In conclusion, my opinion is that the best translation option is to use the CAT system, that mixes the intelligence of the human mind, with the abillity of the computer of proccesing information.
